Informal Street Food Cart

This street food cart is specially designed with the extreme Cape Town weather in mind. It provides shelter from rain, wind and sun all at once. Set-up time is mere two minutes for a single person which saves valuable time to any informal trader. It houses all the necessities the trader need to adhere to government and municipal laws and regulations.
The materials choice for the design was chosen as it is materials most informal traders are already using and therefor the maintenance of the cart can be done by themselves, keeping costs low and manageable. This cart's simple design can be made by anyone with basic metal working skills and tools. Creating a larger value chain within the informal community rather than outsourcing to large corporations who sometimes overlooks the informal sector as a viable market.
